
Thirteen Receive State FFA Degrees at Convention
DeKalb County Farm Bureau congratulates this year’s State FFA Degree recipients from DeKalb County. Thirteen young people were recognized with the State Degree at the Illinois FFA Convention held recently.
The State FFA Degree is awarded to FFA members who have demonstrated the highest level of commitment to the organization and made significant accomplishments in their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAEs).
The State Degree winners are:
Genoa-Kingston – Deloris Drendel and Ashley Zuke
Hinckley-Big Rock – Kendall Hawbaker and Madeline Noble
Somonauk-Leland-Sandwich – Jessica Carlson and Brandon Larson
Sycamore –Jared Clausen, Tyler Ekstrom, Morgan Fidler, Jaedyn Slutz, Sarah Ward, Myranda Wilbur and Heidi Wood.
Also this year the Somonauk-Leland-Sandwich FFA Chapter won state in the Food CDE competition.
Genoa-Kingston FFA and Sycamore FFA are both national finalists for the National Chapter Award Program, based on the chapter’s program of activities for the year.
