Step back in time and enjoy some history and tunes from the Big Bands, the Golden Era of music.
Bandleader and music historian Steve Cooper will share rare film clips of many bands and singers at the Prime Timers program on Monday, March 6. Steve will also play some Big Band songs on his trumpet and take requests for songs at 1 p.m. in the Farm Bureau Theater.
Steve has been a music teacher for over 30 years in public schools. He has written thousands of pages of music arrangements for bands and orchestras and played trumpet for many occasions. He enjoys sharing his knowledge of Big Band history and stories with audiences.
Before the program, Prime Timers are welcome to attend lunch in the Farm Bureau Auditorium at 12-noon. Lunch fee is $8, payable by Feb. 28 at the Farm Bureau office.
